Sonia Parekh


Sonia is a seasoned retail/consumer brand industry executive with a deep rooted passion for taking on the challenge of ever changing consumer demands to enable business success.

She has 20+ years of experience working both in operating roles for global retailers, as well as a strategy and operations consultant leading large scale initiatives to build new core capabilities. Sonia thrives in situations where there is a new opportunity, and she is tasked with building a team, establishing structure and a plan to drive results. She has a proven record of delivering profitable growth in both large established and small start-up environments. Over her career she has worked with over 25 retail and consumer brand companies and has experience across all distribution channels (stores, wholesale, catalog and eCommerce).

Sonia’s combined industry and consulting experience give her a unique perspective. She knows how to lead a team and drive the business, but she has also seen the big picture from the outside and understands the complexity of cross-functional relationships and what it really takes to get things done. At Walmart.com she led the launch of the apparel category online and worked with teams across the organization to design the site, build and execute the logistics and fulfillment strategy, negotiate vendor agreements, develop the inventory management strategy and financial plans, and build the team.

As a consultant Sonia currently helps retail and brand companies implement new and innovative technologies while redefining processes and organizations to change the way work gets done. She has a deep understanding of the business, and she works to ensure that newly implemented tools truly drive business benefits. She has led technology driven projects in the areas of merchandising, planning, product development, and data governance.

Sonia holds a Bachelors in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
